Leg one of Ka'a Nui's travels July 28-September 8th
The Adventures of Ka'a Nui
Off to Hilo Port for shipping |
Leg one of Ka'a Nui's travels, July 28-September 8th
Stay tuned for pictures and notes.....
July 15, 2025, Shipping day went well for us, AG inspection was quick and easy. Stamp in hand, we headed off to the harbor with our mandatory 1/8 to a 1/4 tank of fuel. Arriving at the harbor, we are directed to Pasha receiving. I think we waited longer in line, than it took to drop the car off, hand over the paperwork and keys for the van.
If all goes well, Ka'a Nui ships port on July 17, arriving in San Diego for unloading on July 25th. If all goes well, we will fly out Monday night, the 28th, and arrive at 7am, catch an Uber to the port, and get our van.
July 28, leaving Hilo, bonus, get to fly with Bob on an early flight.
Made the flights, and now comfortable numb in our seats. Honolulu, we have beers with Bob before we part ways, knowing we will see him the following week.
July 29th
We arrived in San Diego at 7am, grabbed our bags, and Ubered to the port in a sporty little tesla, very nice. Alas, we were dropped at the wrong place to pick up the van (not the drivers fault). We were able to leave our bags and walk a few blocks to get the van, a little sketchy walk through the san diego trucking city. So I have to say a bit crazy picking up the van, but it only took about half an hour to get the van once at the port.
Waiting at the gate to collect Ka'a Nui. Once inside Pasha harbor, we searched for our van. Luckily, used Apple AirTags to find it in the lot. Van survived and was intact.
Once at sister Nubee's, the family's home, it was a blast as we arrived there super late. Not realizing my sister was asleep with her phone in her hand, as I think it is her son Charlie asleep. We go upstairs and showered, and after coming back downstairs, I jumped up as I walked around the corner and saw my sister, who had been knocking on our van windows to no avail. This leads to great laughter and hugs in confusion over whose is on first. She had been knocking on the van, thinking we are asleep inside, and we are now in the house, taking a shower upstairs. Lots of laughing once all was figured out. So good to see her. Off to bed... Tomorrow is another day, but a fun one!
July 30th, 2025
OK, we slept in till 11am.... But in all honesty, it was still 8am in Hawaii. Recovery is great, amazing how a cup of Nespresso coffee makes one feel. Clean up the van a bit, and we go for a hike.

Great trails, I think these Californians are into being healthy. Warm weather, but it's a dry heat. They also have pineapples in California, but you don't want to eat them I suspect they are not very flavorful (see picture).
We make it back in time to re-hydrate! |
July 31, 2025
Great food, wonderful company, Killer TACO salad. |
The day was spent running errands for Janet an I. We feed the van with more gas and pick up some supplies. We blinked, and the day was over like that. How does that happen?
August 1, 2025
I am officially retired, woot! That seemed to take a lifetime to achieve. Looking forward to life 3.0 with my favorite Human, co-consipritor, trail buddy, and passenger princess, who can navigate like amazing!
Running errands, Safeway, Trader Joe's. We love Trader Joe's, great food, great prices, and amazing selection. We picked up no sweets, or very little. Ube pretzels are amazing, and some Ube cookies...
Good morning! A beautiful day in El Dorrado Hills. Morning Nepresso is fantastic, and we are sitting outside and enjoying life that only a California day can provide. Planning for adventures of the day with a couple of cups of Nespresso coffee helps with the plotting and scheming. Soon we are off to the Sacramento farmers market, exploring parts of Sacramento's old town, and other areas, such good fun with Nubee, Sophia, and Charlie.
Markets in Sacramento are amazing, full of people, art, food, so many different food items and they close off the roads for this.
Love the street music. So many different music artists were fun on so many different levels.
You've heard of cat in the hat, here is cat in a box, or front backpack. Lots of pets, dogs wearing shoes, dogs in strollers, and everything in between. People love pets here.
Walking to get some amazing lunch at a wonderful little hole-in-the wall place. Noodles, soups, and egg sandwiches, with kimchi fried rice, so ono....
Outside of the Mecha Mucho, Sandos + snacks is the place to get Manju and other treats for post-dinner taste bud fun. Found this sign near, the door at the manju place, and loved it.
Once home, sister Nubee tests out the new pole saw. Cuts trees like butter! Within minutes, we have topped the magnolia trees and others to a better level of shade for the garden area. I love what she has done with the garden.
Post yard work, we have the bluebird of happiness paying a visit to us.
Dinner time! good fun and tons of laughter for sure. Hope to watch the second show of Chief of War with Jason Momoa tonight, amazing show for season one, episode one.August 3rd, 2025
Off to drive to Bob's!
Most of our drive to Bob's place!
Leaving sister Nubee, Sophie & Charlie, we headed to Bob's in Oregon. Stops included the sundial bridge in Redding, Burney Falls, Hedge creek falls. Such a good stop and wonderful to see these kids all grown up.
All really cool and fun, great way to break up the drive. Once again, we took much longer than anticipated, leaving at 815am, we arrived at 8:45pm, a 12.5 hour drive day. Janet took the helm of Ka'a Nui for much of the trip, and I have to say, a great driver, so she is now promoted from passenger princess to captain of the land yacht. I've been assigned as passenger princess, and I really like it.

Arriving into Sisters, amazing views of the mountains and one of the most amazing sunsets I, we... have ever seen. Pics to follow

August 4th
Good morning, Oregon! A morning tour of the home of Bob and Nancy, Lucy and Koa as mascots, presents a beautiful home. Fantastic weather and deer wandering the property.
Long-distance shopping. Bob should have charged for the storage of the boxes. The battery weighed a ton. |
|
Sunset warming blanket... |
Sunset on the lake |
Black Butte for sunset, not as colorful as the previous night, but lots of fun. Watched someone fly fishing, watched some cool birds. We eventually find the fire pit to hang out at. |
August 5th
Up early, coffee, and pulling for a fun day of hikes, adventures, and exploring. Looks like a sunscreen kind of day. Hat, shoes, and snacks. Koa is off to doggy day care, and Lucy will join us today for our adventures.
Back from a day of adventure and exploring, with the Bob's we have portobello mushroom pizza about to happen in the kitchen. Sounds and smells amazing, and a great way to replace calories spent hiking.
First of today's adventures had us up McKenzie Hwy, exploring the Dee Wright Observatory built in 1932. Not sure what it observed, but had stunning views. Back down the Hwy, we parked to start hiking to Matthieu Lake, about a 6-mile hike. <Great little link to the relive hike>. 6.6 miles with a 961-foot elevation gain was really cool. Several butterflies, ok, thousands of butterflies were en masse.
|
|
Bob and Lucy escape with their lives from the swarm! |
Once we survive the butterflies, things calm down to a normal hike. Seriously, butterflies were amazing, thousands, like mosquitoes, but better.
August 6th
Coffee, who said coffee? Body feels great for a 50-something-year-old after yesterday's hike. Morning slept fantastically, I think this retirement mode is really kicking in. I haven't read a book, or a page from a book (Other than a Renogy manual). Morning is spent planning for the day, Deer Tick salad for dinner and lunch, and maybe a band with beer and pupus after today's hike (Thank you, Jill for sharing the recipe with Bob, so we can enjoy it). Hike is to Smith Rock State Park today, home of the rock climbing people. Hmmm, sounds awesome. Hope to put my toes in a river or two.
We survived and thrived hiking Smith Rock State Park. Super fun and fantastic weather for today's hike.

August 7th...
We are now sitting in line for the ferry off of Vashon Island. Could be days... We spent the day driving to Seattle, leaving Bob's place at 815am.
We stop at Silver falls in Oregon, super cool. Actually, ten waterfalls falls in a loop trail.
(Link to relive video) https://www.relive.com/view/vDqg2B1nmG6
Hike was amazing, and then we did the upper or north falls. We then headed to our troll in our troll hunting mode. Ole Bolle.
Then another 5 more hours of driving to meet Steven and Tracy for dinner in Seattle.
August 8th
Up early, and a fun day ending with Shaspeare in the park. But I'm getting ahead of the coho salmon fishery.
Ka'a Nui says good morning. We are at Heidi's place in Seattle staying in hte bonus room. The battery is fully charged, and we find getting hot water from a cold morning only takes 15% of the lithium 280ah battery.
A cup O'coffee gets us motivated to visit Jakob Two Trees, #123 in the series. What a cool troll for sure
Off to the salmon hatchery in Issaquah. We saw one of the plays Steven worked on in the same town many years before.
August 9th
Two trolls in one day, epic or what!
First we meet up with Steven, love his cute little apartment, and so good to see Sterling and Westley, Stevens fur babies, cats.
Off to walk the waterfront, we find Troll #3, Braun Idun by Thomas Dambo. This is Troll 124, a Fantastic piece of art.
Then ferry over to Vashon Island via ferry service. I think Siri told everyone, as we had a 2.5-hour wait for the ferry crossing. Now we are back, sitting, queued up to return. Only 23 miles to Aunties, but the wait is killer long... But worth it, as we are retired... buhahaha!
Oscar, the bird king, number 125.
Down to the sound, and stick my pilau toes into the waters.
Hmmm, this could take some time for the ferry, as I'm starting to suspect... We have been queued for over an hour. I may be able to write a book at this rate, using my phone.
August 10, 2025
More troll hunting, but now wearing my super power, retired, and not my problem shirt. Off to find Frakie Feetsplinters the troll in Seattle Washington. Great parking at the Nordic Museum and meet up with Steven. First pics with Frankie.
August 11, 2025
Woke up, and we are now on Camano Island, it is a great-looking day, and an amazing cup of coffee. Played in the sprinklers and dirt, loving it!
Back at the Camini house of Heidi and Ferg, we hang out and watch Spaceballs, the movie and talk story. Steven has to leave due to work the next day. So good to see him, and glad he can take the time off on Monday to join us.
August 12, 2025
You had me at Coffee! Heidi, I love her amazing coffee maker, the perfect coffee every time. But to be sure, I have several cups. Morning spent cleaning and prepping to find our last troll.
We arrive at the Edmunds ferry terminal and have time to enjoy the wonderful weather. Amazing to see people in the water, but sound looks like great water.
Cormorant Diving Birds |
Steven works here! Got a great tour of the place |
August 13, 2025
Seattle today! How did the day go so quickly. Suddenly we made it to the shaspear in the park. Tonight is Mercer Island, and what fun it was. Tons of food, laughter and family.
August 14, 2025
Breakfast of coffee, winner winner, chicken dinner. Cleaning up, laundry and some fun house projects. Home depot, amazing I didn't buy anything. Janet jets out tonight, will miss her, but looking forward to Steven and Tracy time. Got a wonderful hike in near house of Heidi and Ferg. Great trail for walks, a hidden gem.
Haircut day! Got em all cut... |
Tracy and Steven pick us up and we head to dinner and the airport. Dinner of beer and burgers, I needed a burger big time!
We also had food! |
Perfect timing, and airport is busy at this time of night. Super big hugs, and off Janet goes to her next play area with Suzy and family.
August 15
Good morning from West Seattle. Ensconced at house of Steven, Westley and Sterling, I'm up and moving. A cup of coffee at Beadhead coffee down the street on the corner, than I'm off in Stevens car to run some errends. Alas, even with a GPS, I get lost on my way back to his house. Planning for tonights Weird Al Yancovic show, and Steven plans things to a T, from time of departing house, his idea of a sandiwch for post show to wait for 9 thousand people to leave the parking lot from one road. Sandwich idea is perfect, as the parking lot didn't move for over 30 minutes. It was great to chat and talk about the show. I don't think I've laughed this much in a long time.

Steven has scored fantastic seats for the show. |
Puddles Pitty Party... This clown scares me! |
August 16,
(Editors note:
Wow, forgive me for I have not had a chance to do any catch-up in a week. It has been busy, fun, interesting and filled with great people. It is now May 22, and 9am, I'm sitting with some great coffee, the van heater warming things up and a blanket on my lap, very comfortable. Now cathing up in a text mode. Now at Kawika's on August 26th, posting my notes and images as I can).
Steven has a great suggestion to check out the tent. We go downstairs and are in great shape, ready to rock!
We head to the old machinery park in Seattle. Watch Canadian Geese, kites, planes taking off and landing, and pirates!
What an interesting summer job. Tootle around a pirate ship getting squireted at by tourists. But looks like fun for all.
August 17
I found myself sleeping in a bit this am.
Steven went to meet with an old college buddy, and came back with Tracy to walk me, before returning me to House of Ferg's.

A walk in the park took us to the Discovery Park Lookout Trail in Seattle. A fun walk, and we got to the lighthouse. Cool watching a fisherman bring in a pink Salmon on his pole, he caught at the beach.
After that, a quick stop at the troll under the bridge, and then to gather Ka'a Nui, the van for the first mainland camping trip. Ringing the doorbell sets off the dogs of doom, and Ferg greats me at the door with the van keys. He mentioned having a long night and went back inside. Hugs around a few times to Tracy and Steven, we part ways.

Great timing I head out at 4:30 stopping for food and gas along the way to Stevens Pass on Hwy 2. I head up Miller River group, and find a great place to camp for the night.
Alas, no internet, but that is fine. I settle in, with sandwiches, cake and beer. All the essentials of life. I'm able to get a hot shower in, so I sleep like a baby.

August 18
Up early, I have coffee and some reading takes place. I finish a book and go for a nice three mile walk up
Miller river south fork trail.
Miller river south fork trail.
Tons of mushrooms I find on the trail.
Super cool, and on the way back, I try to go for a swim in the river. I get about halfway in and find it too cold to continue. Back out, shoes, socks, and dressed, I head back to the van.
I park and bring a chair to the middle of the bridge to enjoy the sun, music, beer, and a book. Life is grand. While I have a great camp spot, I chat with an angry, unhappy person, and I ask if I should move my van, I get a reassuring yes. Although we are some distance from each other, I agree, and move about .5 mile down the road.
Dinner is great, two more sandwiches and a soda. I now find myself typing this up. A bit short, but hey, I'm tired and want to get back to my book, Rama II. In other news, I met Don on the bridge, and we talked story. Nice guy, a substitute teacher by trade, we compare hearing aids, and then I get some info on possible camp spots. Looks like I'm headed to Beckler Campground, north of Hwy 2, only a few miles up the highway. About 7pm, and I'm about to hit the hay after some more book time. Hope all is well in the world.
August 19
Not sure if I mentioned, but I moved away from a family camp spot last night and woke to a great view over a valley. Today I head east to Beaver valley lodge area, to re-supply, and do laundry. Love the super ecological washer sheets and fabric softener Jill turned us onto years ago. Easy to carry and better for the environment in so many ways. Laundry, like the cost of coffee has gone up, I now have carperel tunnel in my hands from shoving quarters into the various laundry machines. I find a family interested in he van, so give them a tour, they like it, as I would expect nothing less.
Post resupply and laundry, I make my way to Beckler road campground. No host and no idea how to make a reservation, I continue on up the Beckler river and find a super primo camp spot.
Right at the river, I'm able to get in a swim and watch a bunch of ducks quack by, drifting downriver having a blast. If they had intertubes, I would say they were humans having a great time! Dinner is a giant turkey and ham sandwich with pickles (of course), lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo, and dill mustard. I make some clam chowder soup, and it all pairs with a "German Chocolate cake ale" Beer, actually super yummy. Dessert is on my last pieces of the 20lb super chocolate cake from the kids for retirement. I'm now stuffed, brushing and flossing, I hit the hay, or the full size matters.
August 20
Coffee, nectar of the gods... Good morning, looks like another sunny day, as I wake up and head back to the city to visit with Anne and Kawika. Passing through Monroe, WA, I stop to check things out and stretch my legs. Cute little town. I suspect they are much busier with tourism during the summer; it is pretty quiet this morning. Onward towards Seattle, Ka'a Nui, and I head.
I only get a little lost, still learning how to read the GPS and the turns to make. "The other left lane", sometimes arrows and actual roads don't match up. But I recover and make it to A&K's by 3:30pm. Hugs all the way around, I settle in to chat, and then off we go to get some walking in.
Poha plant at Anne and Kawika's place |
Grace, or Gracie, joins us, a mostly blind dog with a heart of gold. We head to the locks, as the Salmon are running. Well, you and I know, swimming, but swimming fast and relentlessly. They have a long way to go, and a bunch of harbor seals have found a great snack spot for salmon. We enjoy the spectacles of nature, and I think of these salmon that have entered the Pacific Ocean, changing body chemistry to adapt to the salt water, fatten up, and find their way back upstream to where it all started. Nature is amazing. I feel silly thinking back to me making a wrong turn using a GPS. Nature is awesome! We walk a bit more with Kawika, showing us where his tiny home was many years ago, along the riverbank, not far from the locks. We walk to Anne's son's home, that same house his grandmother owned, super cool place with a giant yard. Back home, we have an amazing dinner and dessert from Kawika's home in Roslyn. Suddenly, it is 10pm, and I'm exhausted for sure. Nighty-night, one and all.
August 21
Up and at 'em, I do my morning ritual, coffee, no breakfast, but am offered some amazing fruit I can't turn down. There goes my weight loss.. Morning flies by with coffee and talking story, and lots of laughter, fun people that have found love and happiness, wish I could bottle it and sprinkle it on others. Off we go to the Discovery Park loop trail. I just did some of this the previous week with Steven and Tracy, another happy couple. Life is short, be happy, and these people are!
Kawika has us stop at the military cemetery, dude is a fountain of interesting knowledge for sure. I learn about the German POW buried here, and we walk some of the headstones, reading names and ages. War should be banned, or just put the leaders in a room to battle it out. Maybe one day we will have one planet with one people living happily together. Walking the park, the weather can't be any better. You can cross the sound, and when we turn the corner, you can almost reach out and touch Mt Raineir. Funny, I just realized, you could pronounce the park as rain-ier, I wonder if it was named with that idea... "Ehh Brada, that mountain choke rainier than the other mountain."... "The Other one stays hot, let's call it Baker"... Hmm, probably not.
Well, the travels of Coney have us back home, and I can now say I love Gin and tonics, just one a light one, but so good and refreshing. Dinner is fresh-caught (at the store) salmon. Back home, Kawika and I do battle with Apple to get him logged back into his Apple computer. A super nice lady in Texas helps us over the phone, and while his computer is really old, he is logged back on, and we spend the next hour looking through his photos of his travels. The Salmon is now cooked perfectly, and with a salad with dressing I could die for. We clear the table of computer gear and sit and tell a story. I now call it food with laughter and stories. Anne jokes that Kawika drinks his dressing when the salad is pau, and he doesn't let us down. I wish I had gotten a photo of that.
August 22-24, sorry, lumping things together as a bit of a fun blur.
Today I am off to the iKamper event at the Darrington Bluegrass music park, for fun and family. Breakfast, I am offered an amazing breakfast, but I go with my coffee, ok, Anne has a great coffee maker and I'm addicted, so two coffees and I'm off to the festival via Costco for gas and supplies.
Arriving at the park, I find Hunter (Kara's BF) hosting the entry gate tent, and wow, it is hot, low 90's, but it seems hotter. Heading into the campground, I find Dana, and leave a cold drink with her and head off to find a spot amongst the trees to park. I move closer to the front, feeling a little conspicuous as I'm the only van amongst the zillions of iKampers. From the Rabbit lady sporting a cool ikamper on what looked like a Toyota Prius, to what looked to be a European driving on the right side Datsun truck, or other, and everything in between. I have an epic spot next to Dana and Devin, and of course, Nalu, the amazing golden retriever. I've never met a dog that is so happy. I could swear, this dog smiles and just loves people more than any golden retriever I've ever met. It is warm out so I explore the park and enjoy the multitude of ikampers. I find myself at the babbling brook, or crick, or stream. I'm sure there is a delineation, but it is nice and cool to put my toes into it. A fun evening leads to a morning in the park. People are moving at 7am, I'm up and doing coffee, teeth, and waking up. A nice, cool morning, I turn on the heater to warm up a little. Couch, coffee, heater, and a book for 30 minutes is amazing food for this person.
Ikampers put out a great breakfast, and Steven and Tracy show up so we wander to breakfast together and Heidi gets there as we are just. A fun day, ice cream social,
Morning of Saturday, we pack up and I head off to do the loop to the ice caves. Van does great on the rough roads. I do find the rough roads make the main battery to MPPT controller pop, I'll need to work on that. I hike the ice caves and then head to my next camping spot.
August 25
Camping in Beckler River, way up the hill. I find a great night and hang out for the day, I get a jog in, and take it easy. I suspect I'm not getting enough exercise and too much food and beer. Luckily, no scales to lie to me.
August 26
Off to Leavenworth, Washington, is a fun place with lots of history. I find the town makes its money with parking fees, so I only do an hour and walk about. Amazing I only spent 5 bucks for parking and got away scott free. The town is nice, lots of fun stores to wander through. I see a ton of fruit stands, but realize Kawika's place is full of great fruit, so I continue on. Drive is nice, and I'm able to figure out how to get my audiobook to my hearing aids, so listen to a fun book.
I arrive at the house of Kawika and we go out for a mushroom hunt. Gotta be fast with those wascal shrooms. I actually find a mushroom, a Chanterelle, and I find out later, great taste and texture for sure.
August 27
At the house of Kawika, aka Camp David, just out of a sauna, about to eat chicken salad for dinner. He is pulling tons of stuff from his garden. Dinner will be epic as usual. How he makes simple things taste like magic, I've no idea. Today, we had morning coffee with his buddies. Came back, hung out, and worked on the Sonos audio system, then his sprinkler system. Both are happy now and offer great music this evening. A game of Bouca ball, this is closer than I thought it would be, as I get lucky and he has home court advantage. We follow this with blueberry picking in his yard. Two-gallon containers of blueberries that taste awesome. I also snag some pears for the van.
Coffee, and see if there are people that might be able to store our van at the local coffee watering crew. Off to Costco in Yakima and then Brada Bob's place in Sisters. I'm curious how the fire will be. Kawika suggests a river valley road, which is a great suggestion.
Always makes me think of the movie, "A River Runs Through It". The drive is fantastic, and I'm able to chat with the Mrs now that she is home.
I reach the Columbia River, bordering WA & OR states. Reminiscent of Howard and I bike trip what seems like a thousand years ago, and yesterday at the same time.
Google Maps has fun with me, as I turn onto a very bumpy road with tons of giant washboard areas. I do see some alpacas?
Writing this up the next morning, but the fire wasn't too bad. Lots of smoke in the air around sisters.
We look over the garage project and head to Lowe's to return some windows and p/u materials after grabbing a bite to eat. A burger and I have a couple beers, can't remember the last time I had a burger, but this is seriously good. Lowes has all the stuff, and a bonus red moon from the fires is seen from the parking lot.

August 29
Hmmm, coffee, yum! Up early, read some news now on the second cup, about to start the project. Looks like a nice day. We spent time last night talking about the hike. Today is electrical work, and lights for Bob's shop, aka man-cave. We get the electrical wired up, and only have lights to do tomorrow. Installed a new LED outdoor lamp and fixed garage door tracks. The plan is to get some drywall on Saturday morning and then wire up lights for the shop. A productive day for sure. Bob does up a delicious Trader Joe's sirloin, veggies, and a couple of beers. Followed by ice cream with blueberries, topped with caramel and chocolate sauce. Yummm!
August 30
A fun productive day in Bob's new man cave, aka shop off the garage. Finished electrical outlets and light circuits. Drywall started, and the ceiling is mostly done, except for a central strip. Will finish tomorrow. Lasagna, salad, and beer, a great dinner, followed by blueberry ice cream.
August 31
Day before the big hike. The weather is holding and looking good. Found two sources for spot weather at https://www.oregonhikers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24690.
Prep for the hike and
Sept 1-2 Hike South sisters!
Good morning, south sisters hike, here we come!
Sept 2, hike to the top of South Sister https://www.relive.com/view/vRO7ZDVPXKv/explore
The hike was fantastic, and I loved the camping near the lake. No corona aurora borealis viewing, but amazing stars. Surprisingly warm and my worry of waking up as a frozen corspical was put to bed.
Dinner is great, something from Peak, I now call it "Peak Gas", as it, well, you catch my drift...
Good morning!
Bob is getting close to the top! |
Sept 3, recop and food
A fun day of mud and floor leveling, followed by a great steak dinner and dessert
Had beers with Bob and Howard in 2003 |
2023, same great beer! |
A hui hou Bob, Koa and Lucy! Mahalos for a great stay! (P.S. My feet have blisters from the hike. |
Sept 4 - Head to House of Nubee's
Heading to Sister Nubee tomorrow! Plan to leave at 5:30am, hit Costco for gas, then onward.
Hope there is coffee along the way!
Sept 5-7
Ok, I slept like a baby, being tired helps. Up with the magic Nespresso coffee magic machine, and two cups have me moving. I found a Jiffy Lube a few miles away, and while a 15-minute oil is listed, the change took 1.25 hours; they did tell me they were backed up a bit. Great people and the van is happy. They checked the tire pressure and topped off the radiator fluid, so Ka'a Nui is happy. It is nice to get out walking in the town center and talking with Janet on the phone.
Pau with oil change, has me getting gas and doing a Costco supply and gas run as well as a Trader Joe's run for essentials. Back at the house of the Nubee Clan, I work on the van and get things cleaned up, organized and set for our next adventure.
Last weekend in California for a bit, before I head home.
Sept 8th - Head home!
