Driving, again?  

Relive from todays drive

We leave Betty and Paul's after a fun night, so good to catch up.  Such wonderf people.  OUr first stop is to get an oil change and get a new GPS.  We stop off at wallymart, for a 1/2 hour oil change.  Only took over two hours.  Then they came back with tires over inflated, but person said it was a computer glitch.  Not very comforting.  Hope they changed the oil and filter...


We find a cool fort, closed of course.  Gota love the Orange nut in the white house.


A lovely town.


Yikes, I feel like I would hurt if I fell on this fort.

 Ka'a Nui - The Big Van Project   2024      -      www.johnconey.com/kaanui_home.shtml A blog about the setup of the RV Ka'a Nui, a 2021 Dodge Promaster van purchased on February 28, 2024.  A huge hand goes out to Howard and Tim, who drove me to Kona to meet the seller and have lunch.  Great people and tons of fun for sure.  The van is a tall 9-4" Promaster van with 136" wheelbase (wb), front-wheel drive.  For electrical, it supports a 230a high output alternator and 700 watts of solar (more on that later). Sooo, why buy a van.  The current concept is to fix and build it out into a sleeper van to include a bed, toilet, sink, fridge and other amenities and ship it to the mainland in a few years when done. Ka'a Nui's travels....

  The Travels of Ka'a Nui! The journey starts with a single step.  Make that 35 years of working in great occupations for both of us.  We are now retired, or nearly so.  Our magic camper van ships out to San Diego, July 15, 2025.  We will hopefully pick it up on July 29th and start heading north thru the Pacific NorthWest. Leg one July 28th-Septmber 6, 2025 Pickup van in San Diego pier.  Head to Sister Nubee's in Cali.  Off to Bob's to get some of our supplies and drink his beer, then Stevens in Seattle.  Looking forward to a "Weird Al" Yankovic show, then a super fun Bluegrass camping festival.  After that, back to oregon, hike, walk, hike, and then head to Sacromento to fly home Sept 8th.
