Day thirty three of van life, October 31, 2025, happy Halloween 🎃👻

Day thirty three of van life, October 31, 2025.
Morning sunrise.
Precious night sunset provided by oil companies burning off chemicals into the night air.
Happy Halloween 🎃 👻 🎃

We had a long night and now rank this as the worst spot to camp on the planet, maybe the solar system, after driving thru Texas the state sorta sucks as well. People drive super rudely and offensively just to demonstrate being ass hats, maybe that's why it is a maga state.

Morning reflections of a long night.

The Pacific gulp

This blogger tool needs help post four pics and it burps...

We head on out of town to Galveston, before we get stuck here.

Oil rig in progress of something

Well, the rocky raccoon 🦝 band, and his pose did two valid attempts to infiltrate our defenses. Luckily, we were ready both times. Once awake wondering what the hell the sound was and the second time early in the am, they approached from on our roof. Apparently we found claw mud marks on passenger side window and they tried to get up the front. Luckily we had clean windows, so they slipped right off the sukkkaasa.
First time was late at night 8pm while we were having dinner.  Cheese macaroni with squash and shitaki mushrooms and chicken.

Next morning images of dirty racoons paws

But they did get on the roof.  Had to bang on ceiling to chase them off at about 2am. I jumped out into a swarm of attack mosquitos, luckily no pythons or crocodiles were present..  that was it for the nights attacks.

We left back through the industrial corridor of all things petroleum, stopping at an old oil rig platform being rebuilt or removed from service.

We spot a place to give Ka'a Nui a bath, well deserved.
Lots of police about, not sure why, as well as a ton of unmarked vehicles with lots of armed people?  Hmm

We get in line for the ferry to Galveston
Once on the ferry, we can look down at the roof and check for racoon damage.
We see a number of dolphins on our passage. But alas no photos.

Janet enjoys the ride.

We left to take the ferry to Galveston, then driving up thru houston and on to our campsite for the night   nicd spot and only about 45 minutes from our troll, bridge of bats and an oil change

Sweet dreams from us to you on this haunted Friday night.
