Day thirty four of van life, November 1st, 2025.

Happy November 1st!  26 days till turkey day and 54 days to Christmas 🎄 🎁.

We survived Halloween!  Nice campsite, we wake up to a nice morning and a cup of coffee to go. Leaving the camp we enter the world of Bucee's rest stop, home of beaver created fashions and food.  Ohh and they have gas.  We get a few things, a rolled burrito breakfast sandwich, they call a taco 🌮, and a few miscellaneous items, some to be considered as junk food.  Bathrooms are super clean and staff is friendly to a t.  We roll onto Austin for a jipped lube, I mean jiffy lube privately owned and spendy. I worry as they cannot seem to figure out the latch on the hood and it takes three people to work it out. Not leaving much confidence with me. Also, did I mention expensive and no coupons accepted.  So a 115 dollar oil change that cost 20 bucks in parts. Alas it is only money.

We head over the bridge into Austin, Janet had been here years ago and watched bats emerge from under the bridge. We both suspect it is out of season and not sunset.  Parking is minimal and so we find our selves out of the park parking under a public bridge.  Luckily, Ka'a Nui turns on a dime and we park carefully between two cars with inches to spare, no really inches.  We head into the park only to notice a sign "only four days since the last car breaking", oh shit, we now find our selves ina. Bit of a quagmire, do we a) go to the troll, b) split up or c) head back to the van giving up our reason for driving thru Texas.   We start heading back to the van, and stop. Nlets look how far away the troll is, we look and isn't that far, so we reverse course and go hunting for our troll.  Troll isn't to far away and we get our picts and run back to the van.  Alas, van is still with tires and windows intact.  Off we go to do battle for three hours of driving to our campsite for the evening. Mission accomplished!

Now on the road and about a half hour to our campground for tonight.  It is on the way to big bend national park, so we can get an early start. Nice way to break up the drive. Temp is 66f, as we head to Schreiner Park.

Made it to the park, nice place Google peeps say camping is cool, signs say no RV camping.  We are in our big campervan tent.  Place is full of pecan trees, with people picking them. Pecanoliscious place for sure.

Stay tuned, same batt channel, same batt place!
